This is a living document, a work in progress. I’ll be sketching in bits and pieces of what makes me ‘me’ over time and I hope it gives a clear idea of my personality, my likes and dislikes, my passions, my fears and everything else in-between. I’ve always thought that most About Me sections are dry, boring and read like a snooze-fest. ‘Here’s my name, what I do, yada, yada’. I like to plunge deeper. I want you to know the real Sean Paul.
I want potential clients to know just what they are getting when they pick up the phone. No pretenses, no corporate speak, just me.
Your Sean Paul on design:
I’m a creative, I was born that way and I like artsy stuff. I listen to it, watch it, read it, and design it.
Professionally, I’m a marketing Consultant. I set up branding and corporate identity and such. I’ve worked with Fortune 500 companies to small startups. There’s a good chance you have either read, touched or drank something that I was involved with at some point. I design with the best of them, and know how to get the message out. I know how to make my clients money and have a referral sheet as long as your arm to prove it. I also know how to play nice in the sandbox, there is nothing worse than dealing with a difficult consultant.
I also have a large network of people that I work with. If what you want isn’t in my toolbox, I’ve got someone who can do it. It’s all about networking, and I’ve got some seriously big guns in my arsenal of design goodness. In short, my motto is On Time, On Budget & On Message™.
Your Sean Paul on Religion:
I do my best to be a good person and help when I can. That’s all that’s necessary.
Your Sean Paul on Politics:
I try not to argue about politics, it causes division.
Your Sean Paul on Marriage:
Out of 6 billion people, I won the prize. I have the best wife on the planet.
Your Sean Paul on Work:
Strive to do your best everyday. 110%. Builds character.
Your Sean Paul on Finland:
I’m a Finn and have all of the traits crazy Finns have, for better or worse. One thing I can tell you, don’t mess with a pissed-off Finn.
Your Sean Paul on music:
I love all musical styles if I deem them real. I cannot abide corporate driven music. It’s fake, plain and simple. It’s put together by a bunch of suits that have no idea of what music is about. They are driven by profits, and the artists are the ones getting screwed. Typically the company get 80% of the profits, they guys and gals actually making the music get 20% if they’re lucky. Does that seem fair to you? Hey, profits are a good thing, I’m not anti-capitalism or anything. And yes, sometimes there is a pop ditty that has a beat to it, but mostly it’s all just cotton candy that lacks any real substance. And these poor sobs are trapped legally into a contract that saps them dry of any creative expression. That’s why there are so many one hit wonders. If they would be allowed to do what they do best, there would be a lot better music out there. I just believe that the arts, all of them, should be left to the artists, not the greedy no-talent hacks that wish to exploit them.
That’s why I listen to bands that have no real interest in commercial success. They concentrate on their craft, they push themselves to explore their demons, and then have the balls to expose themselves to the world. These are the real musicians. I need real lyrics, honest melodies and people who are willing to put it all out on the line. That’s what music is for me. I’ll be doing music reviews from time to time, so look out for them. Please support these artists when you can. Often they only ask for a couple of bucks for an album and they are typically WAY better than anything you can find on the white washed boring sounds that proliferate the airwaves.
That’s it for now. I’ll be adding additional bits when time allows. Thanks! - Sean Paul
